Rice and Fearon in French 24-Hour Race

Amazing seventy-year-old Frenchman runs 181.245km, or 112.620 miles!

The IAU-labelled 24-Hour Saint Maixent race in France had an Irish interest at the weekend (19-20 September 2009) when two Irish residents took part.

Mick Rice finished in 12th place with 176.386km (109.601 miles) while Joanne Fearon covered 143.817km (89.364 miles) during the 24-hour period. 

Seventy-year-old Frenchman Christian Mainix had a tremendous race when he ran 181.245km (112.620 miles).

The winner of the event, Herve Bec, ran 214.563km while the female winner, Nadine Weiss, covered 202.715km.
