The world's southernmost ultramarathon, the Antarctic 100k, recently took place on the frozen continent. It was operated in conjunction with the Antarctic Ice Marathon.
The races are organised by Richard Donovan of UltraRunning Ireland.
TV Globo, the third biggest commercial network in the world, will broadcast a major documentary on the event in April 2011. There were 20 million hits in one day on the TV network's online article about the race. The event will also feature on Transworld Sport, Bloomberg TV and CNN World Sport in the coming weeks.
