Ireland's Thomas Maguire won the inaugural Energia Belfast 24 Hour Race on 6th-7th August.
Maguire ran a total of 127 miles to win the first prize of £500. Second place went to fellow Irish international athlete Eddie Gallen, who flew 'home' from his Madrid base for the event.
Although Maguire covered some 27 miles further on road to be ranked in the top six in the world last year, Eoin Keith's Irish track record of 147 miles was never threatened on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Lynne Hanna took the women's title with a distance of over 90 miles.
The race took place at Mary Peters track and proved to be a remarkable organisational success. The event also had an IAU-label, with results therefore being recognised internationally.
UltraRunning Ireland's Paul Donovan acted as race referee and he believes that Race Director, Ed Smith, is certain to have large numbers next year.
Full results of the Energia Belfast 24 will be posted here when available. In the meantime, you can view this BBC Story on the race.
