Five top Italians for World 50k

Paola Sanna, ranked third in World 50k race field

Update: 7 August - Six Italians, 3 men and 3 women, will compete in Galway. Marco Boffo will be joined by Andrea Anselmi and Andrea Bernabei. Emanuele Zenucchi will not take part.  

Five Italian athletes will take part in the World 50km Trophy Final in Galway on 29 August 2010.

Paola Sanna, winner of the Di Romagna 50km, is the third ranked runner in the women's race field.  She will be joined by Monica Carlin, the 2009 50km runner-up and 2006 World 100km silver medalist (7:29:16), as well as Lorena Divito.

The men's challange from Italy will also be particularly strong. Emanuele Zenucchi, a 2:14:40 marathoner,will be joined by Marco Boffo, the European 100km bronze medallist. In 2009, Marco ran a time of 6:45:38 to clinch third place in Europe and 4th in the World at 100k.
