Helena Crossan is UltraRunning Ireland's 2009 Female Athlete of the Year.
Helena won the Home Nations 100km title in Galway, also known as the Anglo Celtic Plate.
She later took a bronze medal at the European 100km Championships in Belgium and placed a remarkable sixth in the World Cup at the distance.
In addition to her elite ultrarunning performances, she won the Newry City Marathon, placed second in the Longford Marathon and took sixth place at the National Marathon Championships in Dublin.
Helena is the Irish 100km record holder with a time of 7:52:45.
