INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS IN 2012

In 2012, UltraRunning Ireland will enter teams for the European & World 100km Championships, which will be held in Italy on 22nd April. 

IRISH COMPETITIONS

•                50km Irish Championships (18 February -- Donadea, Co. Kildare) - Contact Anthony Lee        
•                100km Irish Championships (22 April -- Seregno/Brianza, Italy) - part of European / World Championships
•                24 Hour Irish Championships (6/7 July -- Bangor, Co. Down) - Contact Ed Smith

 

Please note: Athletics Ireland will be responsible for entering athletes to international competition post April 2012. To date, the hosting of international competitions in Ireland (such as the 2011 Trail World Championships) and the funding and sponsorship of Irish athletes for international competition has only been made possible via substantial private financing from Polar Running Adventures, operated by Richard Donovan. HOME NATIONS

In 2011, the following Home Nations race took place:

•            Anglo Celtic Plate 100km (27 March -- Perth, Scotland)   

 

WORLD & EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

In 2011, the following races occured at European, Commonwealth and Global level:

•           Trail World Championships, 9 July - Connemara, Ireland 
•           100km World Championships / European Championships, 10 September - Winschoten, Netherlands
•           Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Championships, 25 September - Anglesey, Wales
