A noted mountain runner, Paul finished in the top 25 at the IAU Trail World Championships in Connemara on 9th July 2011 when making his international debut. He earlier won the Wicklow Way 51km Ultra race and set a new record for the entire Wicklow Way 130km route. Following the Trail World Championships, Paul finished a highly credible 3rd in the gruelling Lakeland 100 Mile Trail Race in the UK. He updates a blog at http://overtrailsandhills.blogspot.com/.
