A recent convert to ultrarunning, John made his debut for Ireland at the 100km World Championships in Gibraltar in 2010. He followed up with a fantastic run of 7:09:33 to finish 3rd in the Anglo Celtic Plate (Home Nations) 100km in March 2011. John is very talented over a wide range of distances from 10k to 100k and was captain of the Irish team at the Trail World Championships on 9th July 2011 and World 100km Championships on 10th September 2011.
